Meet our Therapy Dogs

Callie

Callie is an English Springer Spaniel, and she started training slightly later (when she was 1yrs old) and worked at Les Voies as the very first school therapy dog here in Guernsey.

Her confidence and calm nature helps her thrive as a school therapy dog. She loves the children and working (especially because she gets to spend all day with her owner).

Callie has had 2 litters of pups - Haze and Cyan have become wonderful therapy dogs too.

Lucy

Lucy is a  tri coloured, Cavalier King Charles. She is a very happy, loving and loyal companion who has been a great support to her owner and family over the years. 

She enjoys nothing more than being with you wherever you go even to the bathroom.  Lucy has been going to training classes since she was a puppy and very much enjoys learning.

Her favourite place to be is curled up on a lap asleep. She is currently training to be a visiting dog and loves getting attention and fuss almost as much as she loves treats (Almost!).

Nacho

Nacho is a tri-coloured long haired Chihuahua, she might be small but she has a big personality. 

This little Chihuahua loves visiting the nursing homes and will happily sit on all the residents laps and have lots of fuss and cuddles (and the occasional biscuit crumb or two!) The homes all ask after her so we wouldn't like to visit without her, there would be some very sad people - staff as well as residents.

Day

Day is a long haired Chihuahua who was rehired when she was 5 years old. She loves nothing more than curling

up on the sofa for a sleep and getting plenty of attention

and cuddles especially with the residents nursing homes when she visits with her fur sister Nacho, where she is usually found on someones lap having a cuddle. Day loves to learn new tricks and willing to try anything for some cheese.

Teddy

Teddy is a Cockapoo who turned out a lot bigger than his owner expected but she wouldn't change him! He loves meeting people and often happy to sit and be stroked by anyone that stops and say hello. Teddy even won Most Handsome dog in a fun dog show.

He loves to go for long walks with all his doggy mates and adores a muddy puddle, the muddier the better or even swim or dip in the sea if no mud available!

Mr Darcy

Mr Darcy is a Golden Labradoodle. His owner meet him at just 10 days old and visited him around 4 times before she was able to bring him home. As a family who only had cats, the arrival of Mr Darcy was a big difference, with him growing into one large dog crossed between a polar bear and an Angus bull! He can be excitable but in fact he is a gentle giant, most of the time. He loves his freedom on the beach and in a local field, but he also enjoys his training with PFS. He loves being groomed which happens daily to avoid matting and is happy with a bath and the hair drier as long as he gets a treat afterwards.

Uno

Uno is a male Labrador Retriever. From the very first time his owner held him in her arms when she collected him, she knew they would have a strong bond. Uno loves to learn new things and to please his family. He is great with his two human sisters who enjoy spending a lot of time playing with him and running around the garden together. Living by the beach his favourite walks include; using his nose along the common, as well as playing on the sand and in the sea. 

After brisk walks he thoroughly enjoys cuddling up near people wherever they sit and snoozes the rest of the day away. He is very mild mannered and has an even laid back temperament.

Riley

Riley is a Springer Spaniel and is Haze’s daughter, Callie’s grand-daughter and litter sister to Stanley. Riley lives with her owner in Sark along with fellow PFS dog Nyx.

Riley is a total live wire brimming over with intelligence and brave curiosity! Everything in life is fascinating and it’s great meeting new people and getting fussed over. She loves her short daily training sessions and thinks it’s great fun learning new tricks and annoying her adopted sister Maggie with her incessant requests to play, play, play and her love of sleeping draped all over her!! She hates daytime naps but does love a good snuggle on the sofa at the end of a busy day.

Nyx

Nyx is a Sprocker Spaniel pup who lives in Sark with her owner . She’s a very loving little bundle of fun who loves ruling the roost at home and playing with PFS-level 2 fur-sisters Riley and Maggie.

Nyx’s mum is PFS member Rizzo and her gran is PFS member Ryka and great-gran is PFS member Echo, so she has some very big shoes to fill! She loves training and is really looking forward to when she can stop being carried around and go for a proper walk with ‘the big girls’ and get to go in to school to make lots and lots of new friends!!

Kito

Kito is a Pomeranian who lives with her owner and fur brother Remy in Sark.

Kito used to join his owner at her Hair Salon and he liked nothing more than the frequent visits of the older clients, as he always had lots of cuddles, and the occasional treat.

After suffering with depression herself the addition of Kito into her life has made such a massive difference, helping her through some tough periods,

He loves to play, enjoys his walks around the island, and is keen to learn and please.

Remy

Remy is a Pomeranian who joined her owner and her family in Sark.

He has settled into the family very well and his big fur brother Kito, ( also a PFS trained therapy dog) has accepted him as part of the family too.

Remy is full of fun and mischief, and compared to his Princely, Prima-donna brother, is the Tatty ted of the pack, delighted by the messier he can get the better!!

Despite this he is such fun, playful yet eager to learn and most definitely wants to please everyone he meets!

Loki

Loki is a Flatcoated Retriever who was born in Norway and moved to Guernsey with his owner, who met him and his litter mates when he was just 3 weeks old.

Loki is a big friendly boy who loves to be involved in everything, he loves to be the centre of attention and loves to dispense Loki love in great quantity.

Loki is an intelligent dog who loves to learn new tricks and has enjoyed all his structured training sessions so far. He does small training sessions every day to keep his brain active and encourage him to focus on things.

Basil

Basil is a Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is one of the reading dogs at a school. Basil regularly attends such events as the West Show, seafront Sunday, visit the hospital, nursing homes and any other places that we are invited into. Basil has an ideal temperament to be a therapy dog as he loves everyone and everything. It is so rewarding when you see children/peoples faces when he visits them. He is also learning tricks and likes to show them off on our visits. He loves going on walks with his older furry brothers, attending obedience training to learn new disciplines and loves playing fetch.

Tilly

Tilly is a Cavapoochon who was born in Southampton and came over to Guernsey on an Aurigny flight in early August with her owner.

She is a playful, confident puppy who loves to meet new people and other dogs. She loves to go out walking and Rousse, Port Grat beach, Bordeaux and Chateau de Marais are her favourite places. She loves playing with her toys, especially tuggy with her owner. She also loves to be groomed and this helps her calm down and go to sleep.

Ralphie

Ralphie is a Chocolate Labrador who joined his owner and her family when he was 11 weeks old when he travelled over from Southampton.

Ralphie always seems to know when you’re feeling ill or down and will be happy to comfort you by resting his head on your lap. Either that, he’ll always be there to offer as many licks as he can and try desperately to be your best pal.

He adores people, swimming, biscuits, playing fetch and will always stay near so you feel reassured that he’s never too far away.

Minnie

Minnie is a cavapoo who was rehomed at 5 months old and now enjoys life with new owner and her family . She loves her walks and playing with her toys. Minnie enjoys playing with her friends Teddy and Ronnie, and loves spending time with owners grand daughters. She is a real character and very loving too. Minnie is training to be a visiting therapy dog and hopefully go into schools as part of our Reading to Dogs scheme.

Marmite

Marmite is a black Labrador Retriever who joined his owner when he was a young pup as his owner was recovering from heart surgery so he lifted her out of depression and gained motivation during recovery. He is an intelligent dog & relatively easy to train but can also be challenging as they have a mind of their own sometimes.  At the age of 5 years he qualified for Crufts & came 3rd in his class.  As he has matured the training is a little more difficult for him so to keep him active physically & mentally, he joined Paws for Support on a training course whereby he passed with flying colours & now assists where necessary.  

Georgie

Georgie is a fluffy, little Papillion. She is originally from Jersey but moved to Guernsey at 1 ½ years old to live with her owner and her family. Her favourite activity is chasing after her most-loved toy, a pink ball. She loves to run on the beach, especially Port Soif. Georgie cannot wait to spread her small but mighty joy to everyone she comes across and aspires to get out into the community, so she can spend time meeting and cuddling lots of people.

Busby

Busby is an adorable Labrador retriever, who lives with his owner and her family and Smokey the cat! Busby is also part of the family at Little Rays of Sunshine day nursery where the children adore him.

He is full of beans and enjoys attending the training classes just as much as visiting the beach to play with his favourite ball!.

Henry

Henry is a Labrador bred in west Wales and living in summer Guernsey with his owner and her family. He has been going to the Island Dog Training Club since he was a puppy, and also does scent and obedience training  which he loves because it means extra treats. Henry is a true Labrador and will do anything for a treat!Henry enjoys going for long walks on the cliffs and likes to paddle in the sea but he never swims, he is very sociable and loves to meet up with his dog friends on walks.
After a busy day Henry likes to choose a toy from his toy box then cuddle on the sofa.

Willow

Willow (or Disco Bingo as her youngest, five-year-old human insists she be called) is a Golden Retriever. When her owner went to choose a puppy from a litter of nine, she knew immediately Willow was the one after she curled up in Nikki's lap and licked her hands.

With a desire to please and a strong motivation for food, Willow is quick to learn and really enjoys her work with Paws for Support and her training. She is maturing into becoming the family's anywhere dog, loving trips to watch football matches and horse riding lessons and joining them on cafe outings. Her favourite place is Bordeaux beach at low tide roaming the rock pools and curling up on the sofa with her favourite cuddly toy cow.

Fion

Fion takes after her great gran Echo, gran Ryka and mother Rizzo who have all done therapy dog work. Her favourite thing is having fuss and attention, followed closely by a ball.

She was born at Sarre's from a large litter of 10, where all her sisters are part of the charity too. Fion likes learning new

things especially when food is involved. She is a spaniel who loves water and fun at the beach swimming.

Ebony

Ebony is a Sprocker who's mum Ryka is also a therapy dog. Her owner wasn't planning on getting another dog but after seeing a photo she fell in love and the rest is history! She lives with another dog called Maddie. Ebony does obedience training at the Island Dog Training Club and is extremely keen to learn anything new and does everything at 100 miles an hour! She enjoys her training so much she loves to be given jobs to do even if that includes picking up articles for her owner and helping with the recycling. In her down time Ebony loves the beach.

Rizzo

Rizzo is a Sprocker who is the daughter of Ryka and granddaughter of Echo who all live together in the pack. She loves meeting new people at schools and nursing homes and has had 1 litter of pups - her daughter Mavis is also part of the PFS family.

Rizzo loves playing around with the rest of the dogs at home and cuddling up with her owners at the end of the day. 

Betty

Betty is a working cocker spaniel. She finds everything and everyone hugely exciting and interesting and enjoys loves being out and about meeting people with her owner. Betty is extremely affectionate and likes doing almost anything she can do with her family, especially running on the beach at low tide, or finding things and bringing them back. Betty has been attending obedience and agility classes too

Kobe

Kobe is a Goldendoodle. His owner brought him and two of his siblings over from Devon when he was 10 weeks old. Always learning new tricks and obedience with Island Dog Training Club and Paws For Support, and training with interactive play games with his family.

Kobe is a very active dog and loves to play ball, swim, run and play with his squeaky toys.

Annie

Annie is a Cockerpoo who lives with her owner and has a second home with her owners children who all share in her training.
Annie is very excitable and adventurous and she loves walking on the beach and swimming in the sea. She has a large basket of toys and she likes to greet you at the door with one in her mouth.

Ted

Ted is a ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has lived with his owner since he was 12 weeks old. He is super friendly and sweet natured and absolutely loves meeting people, although he can sometimes be a little over enthusiastic initially.

When he's not heading out on beach adventures or learning new tricks, there is nothing Ted likes better than to snuggle up at the end of the day on the sofa for 40 winks.

Reggie

Reggie is an English Springer Spaniel who was born in Guernsey and came to live with his owner when he was nearly 1 years old. He is typically lively, lovable and intelligent. After much training, he qualified as a visiting therapy dog and regularly goes on visits to Jubilee Day Centre, where he gets lots of fuss and performs his tricks.

Indy

Indy is a Poogle (Beagle X Miniature Poodle). She travelled to her new forever home during Easter weekend 2023, and quickly settled into island life. 
Indy has lots of fun learning new tricks and skills and is a speedy learner. She loves exploring new places, especially where she gets to do lots of sniffing! 
Indy has a big selection of toys, but her favourite thing is still her humans socks, which she can sniff out of any hiding place!
When Indy isn’t being an energetic pup, she is being a lazy one, and loves to snuggle up for cuddles and naps. 
She has been doing her training to be a visiting dog, with the aim of joining owner (who is a therapist) in her sessions with clients

Jack

Jack is a Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Jack lives with his owner and her family along with his fur brother Chester. He is a very loveable, friendly chap with a gorgeous temperament and he just he loves everyone. He loves playing ball and his favourite pastime is running/swimming on the beach with Chester.

Stanley

Stanley is a Springer Spaniel and is Haze’s son. His name comes from St Anne and was chosen in a naming competition at St Anne’s School, where he will be based. He flew to Alderney, when he was 10 weeks old, to join his owners. He enjoys ‘helping’ and running around in the garden, likes going to the beach and is getting used to travelling in the bicycle trailer. Stanley is keen to learn; he loves his short training sessions and showing off his tricks, especially if treats are involved. He is very sociable and likes meeting people and other dogs. Stanley loves visiting the local Care Home, where he is a huge hit with staff and residents.

Scooby

Scooby is a Australian Labradoodle who joined her owner and her family and their other dog a pug cross.

Scooby loves nothing more than chasing balls and playing with his squeaky carrot! Their previous family dog Alfie used to love listening and help her youngest son read and Scooby has followed his footsteps. After completing their training they would love to help other children with their reading too!

When he’s tired his favourite pastime is sucking and pawing his bed like a cat!

Haze

Haze is an English Springer Spaniel, who has followed in her mum (Callie’s) foot steps and had worked at les Voies school as a school therapy dog.

Her training has gone well and she knows her job, she loved comforting the students and will seek out the students who need her. In class she helps keep the students focused, calm and quiet - helping create the best kind of learning environment which encourages learning.

In her down time she loves playing ball and going for runs on the headlands.

Cyan

Cyan is an English Springer Spaniel who is Callie's daughter and Haze's sister. 

She has been to training since a young pup and loves learning new tricks and commands. Cyan has matured into a loving companion who can always be found by her owners side.

In her down time Cyan loves going for a run, meeting new dogs and carrying objects around the house, especially her teddy or the odd tea towel, and at the end of the day curling up for a cuddle.

Vlad

Vlad is a German Shepherd Dog who joined his owner when he was 3 months old.
Vlad is an easy going dog who loves his food which makes training that much easier. He enjoys going on long walks and holidays with his family and getting lots of fuss and attention at PFS events.

Rocky

Rocky is a Sprocker who was born in Guernsey. He enjoys rock pooling at Portlet beach, chasing after his tennis ball, in and out of the water, swimming in the shallows and doing zoomies in the sand. At home he is often caught sneaking off with someone’s shoe or walking around with a cushion in his mouth, which he will often place by the front door to lay his head on until his humans come home.  Rockyis a regular visitor to La Mare High school.  He absolutely loves going to school and has made dozens of friends there. He loves the fact that there are potentially 100s of belly rubs all in one place! One of his biggest fans at the school commented that ‘he must be the happiest dog ever!

Printessa

Printessa is a Mioritic Cross ( Romanian Sheepdog) , likely crossed with a Rough Collie, and was picked up off the streets in Romania as a puppy. She then spent time in “the pound “ in Romania , before being transported to a UK foster home and put up for adoption. 
She remained there for about 13 months , before her adoption process began . 
After an eventful journey to reach her new home in Alderney , she settled in really quickly and well and I soon discovered she has the most amazing temperament.
She often visits the Connaught Care Home and Jubillee Home, and visits residents , who welcome her and love to admire and stroke her lovely coat and admire her.

Millie

Millie is a lovable Sprocker spaniel who was born in Guernsey
She has sister and brother cats who both adore her and keep her in line.
Her favourite activity is learning tricks having perfected many tricks already as well as going out to the beach to dash through shallow water.  
At home, if anyone in the family has trouble sleeping Millie helps to settle them back to sleep.

Sammy

Sammy is an English Springer Spaniel who was bred locally her and her owner has known each other since she was just a few weeks old. She is full of energy and loves to play ball. Her favorite places to go are the beach and Cambridge Park where she spends time chasing leaves and making sure none escape! Sammy loves her cuddles and is great company to  her family. Sammy now resides in sunny Sark.

Maddie

Maddie is a Sprocker who was born in Guernsey and has joined PFS member Ebony and her owner. Her mum is PFS member Rizzo and great gran Echo who is Ebony’s mum, which makes her Ebony’s great niece.

Maddie is a very quick learner and has great attention which is helping with training. She loves to do zoomies around the garden and it having great fun finding out which leaves taste the best! Maddie loves to be patted and is enjoying chasing Ebony around trying to get the toy that Ebony is having great fun teasing her with.

Ella

Ella is a long coated sable, German Shepherd who lives with her owners. She is enthusiastic about her training and enjoys obedience lessons and search for things. She loves to play tuggy and fetching a ball. She is also learning to do some tricks and enjoys showing them off, providing she gets plenty of nice treats for doing it! Ella loves running and going for long walks with Glenda, she is a proper water baby and if not splashing in the waves she will find a muddy puddle to drop her toys in (but not so keen on the wash afterwards). After a busy walk or training session she will go home and lay on her back - feet in the air and sleep until the next opportunity for play comes along.

Flynn

Flynn is a Hungarian Vizsla, also known as a Velcro dog.
Flynn has been enjoying island life since he arrived in Guernsey during August 2023 at just 8 weeks old to live with his family  and their 2 cats Max and Narla.
Flynn loves training and exploring with his family, he also loves to snuggle up next to someone on the sofa and have a snooze.
Flynn can be excitable and a little goofy at times, but he is learning to be calm.

Luna

Luna is a Beagle who  loves running on the beach and jumping around chasing birds in the sea. Lunas favourite game is tug of war and she loves playing chase and hide and seek with her human sister. Luna likes watching dogs on the tv and can ofter be seen people watching ou the window at home. she loves snuggles and is a fantastic and loving furry friend to the children in the family.

Dotty

Dotty is a Sprocker. She loves her daily visits to the beach, especially exploring the rock pools and meeting new people. Back at home, when she’s not playing with her toys and stealing socks from the laundry, she loves to sit and have a good cuddle. She’s now starting her training to eventually become a school dog, so that she can go to work each day with her owner and work with children

Beau

Beau is a Vislador (Vizsla X Labrador). He’s an enthusiastic swimmer and patient and kind with humans and dogs alike. His affectionate nature is matched only by his love for belly rubs, a simple pleasure that brings him immense joy. Beau's happiness is easily recognisable by his vocal expressions, as he rumbles with pleasure, sharing his contentment with those around him. He’s always there to offer comfort and companionship in times of need. But perhaps Beau's most endearing trait is his penchant for greeting everyone with his favourite toy. With each wag of his tail and every gentle nuzzle, Beau reaffirms his place as a cherished member of our family, a gentle soul whose presence brings warmth and love to all who know him.

Luna

Luna is a Bordernese (Border Collie & Bernese Mountain Dog). Luna is an intelligent dog who loves learning new things. She can be very playful, especially when enjoying a good game of tug. When out and about, she will always find water and happily lays in it. Luna loves running on a beach, playing with other dogs and paddling in the sea. At times she can be excitable but is, in  fact a gentle giant and quite laid back.

Mimi

Mimi is a very friendly, playful miniature labradoodle. She has such a lovely merle, grey and black colouring and receives lots of attention and compliments when she is out. She is a much loved family dog who adores receiving cuddles and praise from her owners. She thoroughly enjoyed her Puppy Foundation course and is joining the PFS training to become a Visiting Therapy Dog. She is in her element when walking on L’Ancresse Common, exploring and jumping on logs at the Guet or digging merrily on the beach.

Max

Max the Shih Tau is a gentle soul with a big heart, always happy to meet new people

especially if they happen to be cats!

While a little shy around other dogs,

Max is steadily growing in confidence every day. One of his greatest joys is a trip to the beach. He loves wandering along the sand, splashing in rock pools, and soaking up the fresh sea air. His favourite spots are Chouet and Grande Rocques, where he’s often found with a happy tail and sandy paws.

Reggie

Reggie is a Cavapoo and just loves everyone and thinks everyone loves him too (why wouldn’t you!) and lives with Hannah and her family!
He absolutely loves to work whether this is in obedience or trick training but plays even harder with his favourite things either playing ball with younger members of the family, parkour, carrying sticks double his size and finding the muddiest puddles ever!

Bellatrix

Bella is a Black Labrador. She came from the UK and has brothers and sister who have become Guide Dogs and now lives with Sam and her family.  
Bella is full of energy and certainly very different to her spaniel sisters! Bella love’s curling up for a cuddle at the end of the day. She is a quick learner, and loves to please but most of all she loves water and will make as much mess as she can.

Isla

Isla is a Cavapoo.
She loves being with people and meeting people when they are out and about. Isla enjoys her weekly training class at the Island dog training club and with PFS where she is learning new skills all the time.
During the summer Isla is often found on the family boat sailing around the island - she is an excellent sea dog!
Isla is training to be a Visiting Therapy Dog.

Phoebe

Phoebe a West Highland Terrier or “Westie” for short. Pheobe’s owners have known Pheobe since she was a month old through video calls to her breeder in Wales. She made the trip from Cardiff in Wales to Guernsey when she was 12 weeks old. The trip was exciting  involving, taxis, trains and even a trip on Aurigny. Pheobe has completed her puppy training and loves going to weekly classes at IDTC which is both rewarding and fun learning new skills and even a few fun tricks, all helping her to grow and mature in to a loving family dog. When the day is done and she has used all that puppy energy up she loves to relax and cuddle with her owners.

Barnaby

Barnaby is a Bernese Mountain Dog and came from a litter of 13. He enjoys getting out and about and

meeting new people and other dogs

but his favourite thing is saying hello

to children, he is a very gentle boy.

Barnaby is always a big hit at events

and his size draws in a crowd but there is plenty of him to pat.

Mutley

Mutley is a rescue dog from Romania so his breed is unknown and came from a charity called Happy Evermore Dogs. He has been with his family for just over a year and has settled in to the comfort of home and island life very well. Mutley loves playing with his squeaky red ball and is especially fond of his favourite treats - bananas!

Winnie

 

Winnie is a black Labrador from a large locally bred litter. Her owner fell in love with her when she was just a few weeks old. Winnie is a bundle of exuberant energy but very sociable and wants to be friends with everyone she meets. She is funny, loveable and at times frustratingly maddening but is smart and loves a challenge of new activities. She mastered the puzzle treat boards quickly and likes to play ‘hide and find’ where  treats and chicken are hidden around the house for her to find – always successful! 


Beau

Beau is a Cavapoo and full of energy covered in soft, teddy-bear fluff! She loves going for short sniffing walks or long runs, preferably through muddy tracks or along sandy beaches. She hasn’t shown much interest in balls as

yet, but if there is a treat involved she is there in a flash!



Rocky

Rocky is a Golden Retriever with a gentle, giving nature. He joined his family at 8 weeks old in South Africa before relocating to the UK and now in Guernsey. He went to puppy school early on and even got awards for his obedience and 'knowing his left from his right'. Rocky still enjoys doing his tricks even if his hearing is starting to go! When in the UK he was assessed to be a therapy dog by TDN. He still loves his outings and meeting new people and give as much love as he can.
